Summer Programming

Summer Day Camp

Full day programing offered for ages 3-13 years from June 11- August 31 (closed July 4th).  A variety of unique, educational, and engaging activities will be appropriately designed for each age group and implemented based on weekly themes.  Daily from 8:10 to 4:15 with before and after care services available.

"Great Start Camp" offered on September 4 and 5; the first day of KMSD elementary classes is September 6, 2018.

Workshop Block

Realizing that it is important for kids to keep their minds active during the summer, we have designed a portion of our program to specifically focus on maintaining and increasing academic skills. Workshop block runs every morning during the weeks of summer school. Students set personal goals, work on group projects, have time to read, and practice math computation.  The approximately three hour daily program is overseen directly by a licensed elementary teacher. Similar to individualized tutoring, students have a greater opportunity to increase their abilities in reading, writing, and math when dedicated time is set aside each day and a qualified educator is able to give immediate feedback and design appropriate instruction. If you are interested in helping your child avoid the “summer slide,” workshop block is certainly something to consider.

For younger children the morning is formatted like a typical preschool day.

Half Day Summer Camp

Similar to our full day care option but operates after the district summer school day. This is an option from June 18 - July 27 and transportation  from KM Summer Academy is provided. Times 6:45-7:45 and 12:30-4:15 with an option to stay until 6:00 PM.

Summer Clinics

Week long clinics focusing on a variety of interests including cooking, soccer, painting, lacrosse, gardening, and science will be offered as an option for students ages 8 years and older.

Middle School Leadership and Junior Teacher Program

Students going into 7th, 8th, or 9th grade that have participated in our program before will be able to apply to be a junior teacher and hold additional responsibilities during the day.  All middle school aged students are welcome to participate in our summer camp where age appropriate activities are planned for them as well.  Those aged 14 years and older may inquire about volunteer opportunities.
