"Nature preschools, however, are a special breed of preschool. Nature preschools have all the same child development goals that more traditional schools have, but they also are committed to accomplishing those goals through experiences in and with nature, and have an added goal of helping children begin to develop care and concern for the natural world."
~ North American Association for Environmental Education
Our unique home-like setting provides a nature based transitional environment to build upon school-like activities and schedule. An emphasis on social skill building and self-competence will help to prepare each child in our program to transition to 5 year old kindergarten with confidence, independence, and excitement. The limited child to teacher ratio also allows for strong relationships to develop between children, their teachers, and their peers.

Hello Bright Ideas Community-
Thank you for welcoming me into your community of learning and growth! I look forward to the upcoming school year as we make Nature Pre-K a reality. As the school year wraps up, I too am wrapping up my journey as a Director of a Nature Based Child Care Center in Milwaukee. It has been a great learning experience, but I look forward to getting back into the true joy of teaching once again as Pre-K Teacher and Co-Director.
My passion for nature based education stems from my own personal love of the natural world. Being in nature and exploring it’s wonders has been my greatest joy and teacher since I was young. Working with children, I have found the outdoors to be the greatest platform in nurturing the whole child. The authentic work and lessons provided in a day outdoors are countless.
Using the seasons as the backdrop, following a child’s natural curiosities gives way to development of pre reading skills, a rich development of the mind and body, and a deep connection to nature and each other.
I look forward to sharing the mornings with your families and look forward to meeting you all!
